After a beautiful summer and my kids going back to school, I decided to step back from social media and take a long hard look at what I’ve been building for the last 8 months and to also re-evaluate what I really really want.
Doing so meant that I switched off Facebook, and all social media for about two weeks!
Yes! Two weeks!
I stepped back from all the hustle so I could see clearly and I can tell you that it was an amazing experience.
It was actually like having a social media detox, and it felt good!
So here are 3 key lessons I learned during my 2 week social media/hustle detox:
Lesson 1: Being caught up in the hustle and bustle, and not taking time to re-evaluate can make you loose sight of WHY you are doing what you do.
Whilst social media is great and amazing, I believe that sometimes it’s so important to create some time at least once a year to have a social media detox.
Lesson 2: It’s so easy to get carried away by what other people are doing. You could end off going after someone else’s dreams and ideas and that could leave you feeling deflated and depleted.
Get clear on your ideas/dreams, go for it AND put on your social media blinders. Your ideas matter and are yours to create.
Lesson 3: I realised that I had to be true to myself and what I wanted.
When I started my coaching business, I focused on what I was good at, not what I was passionate about and stepping back from the hustle helped me to realise this.
Now that I’m back to my original ideas, I feel so confident, passionate, and I feel I can take on the world (a feeling I haven’t had in months)…..phewww!!!!
Over to you…
Have you ever had to step back and re-evaluate what you are doing?
What did you learn about yourself?
I’d love to hear your experiences. Please share in the comments below.
