Lessons From My Nine Year Old

Lessons From My Nine Year Old

Josh2

My nine year old recently started learning how to play a trumpet and boy oh boy, are we in for a LOT of ‘noise’!

Prior to that, he’d been learning to play the keyboard since he was six and I remember those early days…

Tears… resistance….tantrums…. because he thought he couldn’t do it!

I knew he could do it so my hubby and I kept encouraging him not to quit.

Fast forward to a couple of months….. he’s showing off to everyone in the house how well he can play his piano pieces!

There’s a lesson to learn in this short story.

When you start something new, it’s so easy to want to give up!

Especially when you’ve got your little angels consistently wanting your 100% attention, 100% of the time, adding business to the mix can be very challenging!

Joshua really wanted to quit because he thought it would be impossible to figure out what keys to press on the piano.

But…with some encouragement from me and my hubby, he kept going!

Did he make mistakes?

You bet! … Like a million times!

But, he finally got it right because he persisted!

It’s similar to when a baby starts learning how to walk.

They take a few steps, then stumble, get up again, take another couple of steps…

Fall. Get up. Fall. Get up…. until they finally get how to walk!

Another short story for you…

I remember when I started my first home business. My daughter was only 6 months old at the time.

She was the type of baby that wanted me to hold her for 3 hours straight before she went to bed.

And even when I put her to bed, she wanted me to still be with her.

When she finally fell asleep and I attempted to sneak out, she could sense when I had left the room and would wake up and come running into the room where I was working!

Sometimes, I’d be having webinars while trying to rock her in the other arm …lol. Can you relate? haha!

Ok, so the point is this: DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!

Yes, it may be very difficult at first to combine looking after your wonderful kiddoes, doing the school run, cooking, cleaning AND building a business, BUT it will be worth it.

Take a stand for your dreams! And always remember why you started your business.

Like my little boy, if you just keep at it, and don’t give up, you’ll become so good at what you do and in the process change your income and your life!

Before you go….

What has been your biggest challenge so far in building your business? Please leave a comment below. I’d soooo love to hear them.

My free gift to you…

I know how challenging it can be to build a business around your family, so I’ve created a free report that reveals –

“The 3 Biggest Reasons Most Mompreneurs Struggle To Build A Profitable Business (Including How To Overcome Them Immediately).”

I hope you find it very helpful.
